This is a 1978 Alvarez Model 5046 Acoustic-Electric Guitar. This Alvarez is incredible! A really great sounding and playing guitar. A really easy and very forgiving guitar that just has a really great feel to it.
Alvarez makes great acoustic guitars in my opinion. This is an original Alvarez built in Japan in 1978. The Tone of this Model 5046 with it's aged wood is just awesome. It sounds as good as some higher end manufacturers and I rank this Alvarez in the same class for a lot less money. If you are looking for a gigging guitar or just a nice player for home practice, I am sure you will be more than satisfied with this Alvarez.
The guitar appears to be all original. Spruce Top with Mahogany back and sides. Binding on the front and back as well as the neck. The head stock has a Rosewood face with an inlaid Alvarez logo. Original Pickup and electronics. Everything functions and works fine.
Chip Board Case has seen better days but it does protect it and all latches work.
Cosmetically it's in very Good Condition. There are some Light strumming scratches on the pick guard. This guitar is 47 years old and has minor age related wear.
